I was working in sales for 4 years and then decided to go back to school at USD’s Event Management Program to do something I love; planning special events. After taking classes at USD I knew I wanted to get into the wedding business. I’m not married yet, and I am not like some girls that have planned out their wedding day every since they were young. I am constantly changing my mind and am always thinking about new ideas. That’s when I knew I had to get in the business of wedding planning so some of my ideas could some day come to life. I love every minute working with Liz and Natalie. Every day is new and exciting and I get to learn the business from such classy and professional women. This Friday is our first wedding and I can’t wait to be a part of their special day. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I was never that little girl that dreamt of my wedding day, but as soon as my husband proposed to me I knew I had a passion for this industry. I’ve been married for almost three years, and if it were up to me I would get married every year…to the same man. Currently, I am attending University of San Diego for Event Management. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to intern for Liz and Natalie and get some wonderful experience this year. I love seeing the trends and ideas that each new bride brings to the table. This should be a really exciting summer…..I’ll keep you posted!
Apologies for the break in blog posts. We’re back in the swing of things and are very happy to introduce two new members of the Liz Beck Events team: Amy Rheinheimer and Pamela Swentek. Amy and Pamela joined Liz and I as Event Interns about a month ago and are getting into full gear with us. They will introduce themselves on their own blog posts soon…
Check out their photo booth shots below. Pamela is on the left, Amy is on the right.

Liz and I developed a very scientific method of measuring how green a person thinks they are in conjunction with the green wedding show last month and snapped photos throughout the day. We just got some of the snapshots in (thanks Jen!) and wanted to share.
What shade of green are you?
Celery : just getting started, you recycle most of the time
Honeydew Melon : usually recycle, sometimes eat organic and kind of know what’s eco-friendly
Green Grass : conscious of what’s eco-friendly and you try to do your part when it’s convenient
Granny Smith : a step up from green grass, you make an effort to be green in most aspects of your life
Spearmint Leaf : very eco-friendly with your diet and way of life, you probably compost, reduce, reuse, and recycle
Evergreen : super green, pretty much the most eco-friendly you can be with what’s available to you

Yes, wood. Not white gold, yellow gold, platinum, or even titanium. I stumbled across Simply Wood Rings on my quest for eco-friendly jewelry and just had the opportunity to take a look at them in person. We are proud to have featured several Simply Wood Rings at the Wedding Party Bridal Show and will have them to ooh and ahh over in our bustle Grooms & Gifts class.
You might be thinking Who are Simply Wood Rings for? Simply Wood Rings answers that question this way: ”Individuals who appreciate the beauty of wood and organic materials. Those who desire a unique alternative to the traditional. Someone who wants to wear an individually hand-crafted piece of art. People who suffer from metal allergies. Someone who wants to transform a wooden object, such as a child’s baseball bat or husband’s guitar, into a deeply meaningful wedding band, engagement ring or special gift. Men and women who wish to wear an environmentally friendly piece of jewelry.”
The rings really are beautiful and are worth checking out. My husband tested one out for a week. He loved the concept of wearing a ring made of a guitar or a baseball bat. He said that it’s light and comfortable and sparked conversations where ever he went. Anniversary present anyone…?
