Introducing Noel and Bret… Their love story began in law school at the University of Michigan but it is San Diego that they now call home. Once engaged, they knew that they wanted the setting to be close to home and that is exactly where they did it!
Set at Bret’s family home, they wanted to keep their event comfortable and inviting for all of their guests while infusing a blend of contemporary and vintage styles.

We can’t wait to see the images from Justin Lee Photography whom also produced their amazing engagement pictures. We will post them as soon as we get them. Check back with us for Bret and Noel (part 2)…

We are excited about the recent photo shoot for the upcoming issue of San Diego Style Weddings. Natalie and I wanted to pull from our east coast roots and blended a little New England prep with some So Cal Coastal to create this tablescape. We had the opportunity to collaborate with Alyta of Jolie Fleur to infuse color and style into the Valencia Lawn at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

A special thank you to 1 Look Back Photography.
Keep an eye out for the next issue of San Diego Style Weddings to see more images from this photo shoot along an LBE featured wedding. One of our favorite couples (Kate and Chris) have had their wedding selected to be part of SDWS next ussue!
Surviving a Bridal Bazaar
Amy and I recently went to Del Mar’s Bridal Bazaar. This was my first time going to a Bridal Bazaar and I wasn’t sure what to expect. As Amy and I entered the fairground we were a little overwhelmed with all the vendors and the people, so we came up with some great pointers to help all of you first timers out there.
- Bring an Eco Friendly bag. You will be getting A LOT of free stuff and you will need to put it in something that is durable and comfortable to carry. By the time I left my bag must have been close to 10lbs! I collected everything from business cards, pamphlets, to even a free cook book. If I hadn’t brought my bag I would have seriously had some problems.

- So Many Vendors so little time. It’s definitely worth it to check out the vendors before you go. Whether it’s online or the event program research the vendors you would like to go to and meet. Plot out who you want to visit and make sure you make the time to talk to each business.
- How do you remember which vendors you liked? There was an overwhelming amount of photographers and bakeries that could get anyone confused. A great idea would be to bring smiley face stickers so when you collect each vendor’s business cards you could put a sticker on the ones you want to contact again or research a little further.
- Know your vision and what you are looking for. Are you looking for that perfect invitation? Or maybe just looking for a great photo booth company. There were a lot of specific vendors that could help complete your vision, but there weren’t a lot of ideas for design and décor. If you leave the Bridal Bazaar and don’t have your whole event planned don’t panic, you’re not supposed to. This is just a great start to put you in touch with some great vendors and most importantly try some delicious cake.
If you don’t know your vision or your design of the ceremony/reception, don’t worry that’s what Bridal Consultants are for! Hopefully you got a few ideas from the Bridal Bazaar that you can share with your consultant to put together your perfect day.

Jeri asked for an idea to add color to the tables so we suggested she incorporate strips of fabric to infuse the mismatched French-inspired look she was after. She sewed muslin and a variety of patterned fabrics as napkin wraps.
