Style Me Pretty selected Caroline “Cie” and Chris’s wedding as their front page feature yesterday. It was the perfect place to showcase the cornucopia of details that defined this charming event. Thanks SMP!
We had the opportunity to work with Cie and Chris for the 14 months leading up to their wedding day. We were off and running from day one! Now, we get to share this very special day. We actually thought Chris could narrate us through his wedding day (with Cie’s help of course!).
Today, it is all about the people. Tomorrow, is all about the details.
Tell us about the most unforgettable moment of your wedding day.
When Cie walked down the aisle and and I saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. From head to toe she was beautiful. Seeing her so happy and being given to me for the rest of our lives is something I will never forget. Ever.
How did you incorporate your friends and family into your wedding day?
At first we were nervous that we had such a large wedding party, but it turned out to be perfect. Our closest and most beloved, long time friends were by our side on the big day. We also had a special “love grows” unity during the ceremony. Our dads together added soil to a pot, Cie’s grandparents planted a seed, and our mothers watered it together. It was so special to have all of the generations involved in such a pivotal moment in our lives, as well as be lucky enough to have our parents all healthy and able to be a part of it. We will also never forget all of the amazingly hilarious photo booth pictures of our friends and family at their finest!

Was there a dominant piece of advice that you received in the planning process?
Put trust in your vendors and rest assured that “the day of”, things will go as planned. If it wasn’t for referrals and word of mouth, I do not think the wedding would have turned out so special if there were not little details that added a personal touch. It was important that we do what we could to make our wedding OURS.
Can you describe the overall look and feel of your wedding?
French, vintage, “home-y”, elegant, colorful, happy, summery, intimate, and so much FUN!!!
What were some of your favorite details?
The chandelier and mirror having above us in the tree at the ceremony was amazing. We could look into the future, and behind us was the past. Very symbolic and elegant with a huge impact. We adored the band with baby grand piano and multi talented singers. The floating candles in the pool gave off so much brilliance and warmth. The guests were amazed and we were honored to have each set of our grandparents’ wedding photos, maternal and paternal, surrounding a beautiful floral arrangement at the entrance of the reception area. One of our favorite details was the many many vintage keys that Cie fought for on eBay combined with the tags and vintage chandelier crystals that hung from hooks on vintage doors for the escort was amazing. The ambient lighting in the reception and dinner areas. Last but not least the homemade photo booth with props my dad made. The cigar bar was a huge hit–they all were gone, and so was the cake, it was that yummy (wish I got a piece!) The macaroons over nighted from Beverly Hills were soooo tasty in the Rolls Royce after our unforgettable get-a-way before our sparkler send off. And having our family, from near and far to share it all was so special.
Are there any lessons you would like to share with other couples getting married?
Do your research and accept help. It’s a one time opportunity to really share your style and feel with the people you care most about. We took the advice that people gave us: eat your dinner, remember the small moments (don’t drink too much!), and really take it all in and slow, the day does fly by.
Thank you to Weston and Marissa of Boucher Photography for not losing the memory cards and bringing this event to life!
