Etsy has always been my favorite source for unique, handmade goodies but now that they have an actual wedding section, I am more in love than ever.  There are so many talented designers creating original items for all of us to find.  Etsy has offered my couples the ability to source original pieces that speak to them and share their story with all of their friends and family.

As you know, there is no possible way one could feature ALL favorite Etsy Shops in one post.  That would be nearly impossible!  So, today I am sticking with three. Check them out below.

Belle and the Beau

The classic charm and  modern style of  Belle and the Beau captured my interest with their bold patterns in their Beau accessories!  There is also a fantastically romantic and whimsical Belle section of their shop which offers “shoe pretties,” and other adorable accouterments for the ladies.

A Southern Bucket-

Sometimes a name says it all and that is certainly true in this case!  A Southern Bucket has taken their passion for burlap and metal to create customized and functional buckets and vases.  They will not only be a conversation piece at the wedding but they will also find a permanent place in your home.

Beach House Living:

Let be be the first to tell you if you already didn’t know…  Once you get married, the line between mine and yours becomes very thin.  The least we can do is identify our own silverware!  Beach House Living creates these charming silverware and cake cutting sets that will not only compliment your day but will also eliminate any confusion when setting the table in the years to come!

Do you LOVE Etsy too?  We would love to hear from you.  Please let us know what your favorite shops are…

Looking for a way to add some color and vintage flair to your wedding dress (or any other dress for that matter)?  Check out Swank Underpinnings on Etsy.  You can either purchase the crinoline to suit your dress or they can custom die it for you.  All petticoats and accessories are hand-constructed and custom-designed with your comfort and unique personality in mind and… the shop is committed to using green materials and sustainable business practices whenever possible.

Such a fun way to add a little pop of color!

Choosing a gorgeous garter to wear on your wedding day is a sentimental tradition that brides have been partaking in for hundreds of years…

The Garter toss is derived from an old English custom called “flinging the stocking.” Guests would invade the bridal chamber and steal the bride’s stockings, then take turns flinging them. Who ever threw the one that landed on the groom’s nose, would be the next to marry. By the 14th century, possession of the garter had become highly esteemed and the bride would often be rushed at the altar by hordes of guests competing for the prize. These days, the groom removes the garter from his bride’s leg and tosses it to his bachelor pals. If you love the sweet sentiment of the garter toss you can’t go wrong with these seriously lovely garters from Florrie Mitton.

Florrie Mitton is a UK based designer label with a lovely little shop on Etsy. All items are handmade using vintage crystals, luxe fabrics and delicate decorative touches that make each piece unique. They are all so beautiful! How fabulous to wear one under your gown even if you decide to forgo the tradition!

You may be asking why fifteen instead of five.  Well, the truth is that I spent the past 2 weeks back in Boston with family and neglected my weekly blogging duties.  To make up for it, I am adding the past fridays into this weeks blog.  So, I apologize for not being around to post five but this is me making up for it.

I came across these hangers and fell in love.  Before each wedding we will prep the bridal gown and accessories for photographs.   Whether it is the gown or the lingerie, these custom hangers are just a fabulous accent for those images.   Check them out at Lila Frances.

I was roaming through Etsy (again) and came across some fantastic shrugs and capes.  Check out Louise Broad at glamourjunkie on Etsy.

We heart Etsy!  Our most recent find is handmade jewelry by LL Studios.  From custom stamped gifts for bridesmaids to decadent bridal jewelry, there is something here for everyone.

Let’s face it, wedding fashion is all about the ladies.  The gown first, then the bridesmaids, then the moms, THEN… the groom and his men.  Now, I am not suggesting that your wedding style should be based on your man’s attire but they deserve a little more TLC on the fashion front.

I was parusing the internet to try and find some alternatives to the standard neck tie and came across some great custom sites. Etsy is always a viable resourse for creativity and offered a few options (2 of which I listed below).

Me and Matilda- Black and White Damask

Me and Matilda offers classic neck ties with a twist.  They not only offer  neck ties and bow ties, but also create ring bearer pillows and othere accessories to coordinate. Each is handmade and charming.

Cyberoptix Tie Lab is an edgy alternative to a standard tie.  Their custom patterns all have a name and story behind them and they are all about working with your color scheme.

Each necktie is hand made and may have its own variation in color, density, and texture.  In addition, some limited edition and custom made ties are made with deconstructed vintage, recycled or other sustainable materials.

Design Your Tie  specializes in custom ties, custom bow ties, bowtie / cummerbund / handkerchief sets & custom cufflinks for your guy.   design-your-neck-tieCustom neck tie and matching belt

They have a large corporate client base but they offer numerous  dress options.  Their product gallery definitely sways towards a traditional style but everything is truly customizable from colors to motifs and monograms.

Our grooms have provided us with some great feedback on some of the companies listed above. We will report back as the ties are recieved.
